Jack Mann is the patron saint of West Australian viticulture, the creator of Houghton White Burgundy and architect of the state's greatest editions. From fine vineyards within the commune of Monteforte d'Alpone in the Veneto region of Italy's northeast. Soave wines have long been crafted from the local Garganega grape, fashioned to a lighter style of deliciously dry white wine. The Prà family have been at it for generations, releasing conspicuously finer vintages every year. The textural excitement and arcadian funk of a mostly whole bunch pressed Pinot Grigio. A minor part of the harvest is separately picked and destemmed for twenty days of ferment on skins, gently hand plunged every other day for a modicum of extraction. Batches are pressed off skins and assembled into the finshed wine before a requisite spell of maturation on fine lees. The Chianti of Poliziano have evolved over the course of generations to represent a salient and essential enlightenment into the wines of Montepulciano. A medium bodied Chianti which expresses the splendour of Sangiovese grown to good vineyards in the Montepulciano Denominazione di Origine Controllata. Lizio Plozner was a visionary who established his organically managed and environmentally friendly Pinot Grigio vineyards on the foothills of Grave del Friuli in the 1960s.
